When discussing his own entrepreneurial pursuits, Abhishek cited this iconic moment as having left a lasting impression on him, emphasizing that it taught him about the emotional aspects of business beyond mere profit margins. He noted, “It highlighted that emotion plays a crucial role in business decisions; it isn’t solely about financial statements. This understanding has become fundamental in the choices I make. If your heart isn’t invested, what is the purpose of the endeavor?”
This perspective has guided his investment strategies, which include stakes in companies like Swiggy and Zepto. When asked what attracted him to these ventures, he offered a straightforward response: “They provided me with my misal pav promptly. It’s simple: I appreciated the product. It made my daily life easier, which is exactly what these companies excel at—enhancing our convenience. That’s why I expressed my interest in being involved with them, and they graciously welcomed me.”
During his address at the Global Business Summit 2026, Abhishek elaborated on how personal beliefs and familial influences play a role in shaping financial decisions over the years. He referenced his father’s faith in real estate, stating, “My father strongly believes in property investment. There’s that old saying, zameen hai to sab theek hai (If you own land, everything is fine), which resonates with me. I used to invest in gold, and thankfully, my wife urged me to consider silver as well.”
In addition to his work with start-ups, Abhishek has established a varied investment portfolio. He is the owner of the Jaipur Pink Panthers franchise in the Pro Kabaddi League and a co-owner of the Chennaiyin FC team in the Indian Super League. He has also partnered with former cricketer Sachin Tendulkar in investing in Vahdam Tea.
