“Vasundhara Raje’s Viral Video Sparks Reaction from State BJP Leader: ‘I Was Unable to Protect My Home’”

On Saturday, former Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje criticized those she referred to as “conspirators” for allegedly distorting her recent comments. This followed remarks made by BJP state president Madan Rathore, who suggested that the role of Chief Minister isn’t something one is entitled to repeatedly hold.

Raje’s remarks, made during a public engagement at the Kamkheda Balaji Dham temple in Jhalawar two days prior, gained significant attention. In response to the ensuing controversy, she clarified that her statements had been misinterpreted and taken out of context.

During the inauguration of the fourth phase of a padyatra led by her son, local MP Dushyant Singh, Raje highlighted the construction of a four-lane road in her constituency. She explained that the residents of Jhalawar had requested alterations to the bypass alignment. Drawing from her own experience, she recounted how she had to adjust the boundaries of her property when a national highway was built near her home in Dholpur. “If I was unable to protect my own property from demolition due to regulations, how could I advocate for yours?” she stated.

Earlier in Jhalawar, Raje had expressed her awareness of residents’ grievances regarding housing, pensions, and compensation. She noted, “People come to me with their problems, and I respond by saying that I have faced similar challenges. If I can’t defend my own interests, how can I assist you?” This led to residents urging her to advocate on their behalf despite her personal struggles.

Raje’s comments have been criticized for implying a lack of political efficacy, prompting her to express frustration over the misrepresentation of her words. She sarcastically remarked that certain individuals have been monitoring her statements, seeking any opportunity to misinterpret her message.

“These are the same conspirators who have attempted this in the past without success,” she said. “With the support of the people and divine blessings, I am confident they will continue to fail.”

In response to inquiries about Raje’s statements, Rathore claimed that an erroneous interpretation was being circulated. “She never suggested that her initiatives are stalled. Her work is ongoing — I just spoke with her a few moments ago,” he affirmed.

When pressed for more details by reporters in Bikaner, Rathore, who serves as the national vice-president of the BJP, implied that the expectation of being Chief Minister is not a constant. He remarked, “What has she failed to accomplish? This isn’t a position one holds every time,” before referencing a local proverb.
