FINANCIAL CHRONICLE – NEM Construction has secured a contract valued at 1.228 billion rupees, excluding VAT, for the enhancement of four segments along the Colombo-Galle-Hambantota-Wellawaya roadway in the Kalutara District, as announced by Minister Nalinda Jayatissa.

The project will focus on a 9.91-kilometre section of Sri Lanka’s A2 road. A total of eight proposals were submitted for this undertaking, Jayatissa informed the media.

“After carefully assessing the bids, the Cabinet has sanctioned the decision to grant the contract to M/s NEM Construction, which emerged as the lowest responsive bidder,” he stated. (Colombo/Apr 1/2026)
