At the Chetak Screen Awards 2026, held on Sunday, the Best Action Award was conferred upon Aejaz Gulab, Sea Young Oh, Yannick Ben, and Ramazan Bulut for their contributions to the film “Dhurandhar.” This category also featured nominees Amritpal Singh and Marek Svitek for “120 Bahadur,” as well as Parvez Shaikh for “Chhaava.” Additionally, Parvez Shaikh received nominations for “Deva,” alongside fellow nominees Supreme Sundar, Abbas Ali Moghul, Anl Arasu, and Vikram Dahiya. Other contenders included Ram Laxman, V Venkat, Peter Hein, and Anl Arasu for “Jaat.”
The award was presented by Rajat Bedi, while the ceremony was hosted by Bollywood actress Alia Bhatt, comedians Zakir Khan and Sunil Grover, and prominent journalist Saurabh Dwivedi, who serves as Editor for Hindi at The Indian Express.
The Chetak Screen Awards, organized by The Indian Express Group, are esteemed as one of India’s most reliable film accolades, emphasizing principles of merit, impartiality, and recognition from peers.
Winners are determined by the independent Screen Academy, a non-profit collective composed of 53 respected filmmakers, artists, and cultural figures. Following the nomination phase, submissions undergo a thorough and transparent voting process.
Priya Jaikumar, from the University of Southern California’s School of Cinematic Arts, has established the judging framework, which guarantees a comprehensive assessment of creativity, technical prowess, innovation, and audience influence. Special attention is given to authenticity in performance categories.
The Academy includes a distinguished group of members such as Shoojit Sircar, Deepa Mehta, Sriram Raghavan, Ram Madhvani, Guneet Monga Kapoor, John Abraham, Kabir Khan, Karan Johar, Mukesh Chhabra, Payal Kapadia, Prosenjit Chatterjee, Rajkumar Hirani, Resul Pookutty, Rima Das, and Vidya Balan, showcasing a diverse range of cinematic perspectives.
