This incident followed a successful interception by air defense systems.
The Saudi Defense Ministry reported on social media platform X that its air defenses successfully intercepted at least two drones on Monday morning. Meanwhile, the Kuwait Army General Staff Headquarters announced via X that its air defense units were engaged in countering missile and drone threats.
Israel’s Magen David Adom emergency services informed via X that at least four individuals were hospitalized due to smoke inhalation after a missile struck the northern city of Haifa. Additionally, reports confirmed another impact in Tel Aviv, with MDA treating a man for injuries from glass shrapnel. A woman in Petah Tikva, located east of Tel Aviv, also sustained serious shrapnel wounds, according to the reports.
In Iran, state media reported that the Sharif University of Technology was targeted by airstrikes, which also affected a nearby gas station, leading to a “temporary gas outage” in the surrounding area.
Sayed Reza Salihi-Amiri, Iran’s Minister of Cultural Affairs and Tourism, expressed strong criticism of Trump in an interview with the Associated Press, describing him as “an unstable, delusional figure marked by a set of contradictions.”
This remark came in the context of President Trump’s statement on Sunday, warning that if a peace agreement with Iran was not reached within 48 hours, “we’re blowing up the entire country.”
On March 26, Trump reiterated his ultimatum, demanding that Iran allow unrestricted international shipping through the Strait of Hormuz. Over the weekend, he cautioned the Iranian government that failure to fully open this vital maritime route for oil and trade by Tuesday would result in dire consequences, stating, “you’ll be living in Hell.”
In response to inquiries about the Strait of Hormuz, Salihi-Amiri told the Associated Press, “it is open to the world, but closed to Iran’s enemies.”
