Donald Trump Jr. Critiques EU as ‘Somewhat Disorganized’ During Bosnia’s Republika Srpska Visit

During a recent trip to Bosnia’s Republika Srpska, Donald Trump Jr. expressed his discontent with the European Union, referring to it as “a little bit of a mess.” His visit, which many interpreted as a display of support for the ousted pro-Russian leader Milorad Dodik, took place in Banja Luka, the administrative center of the Serb-dominated region. Trump Jr. was hosted by Dodik’s son, Igor.

This trip coincided with comments made by JD Vance in Budapest, where he accused the EU of interfering in Hungarian elections while endorsing Viktor Orbán ahead of the upcoming vote on Sunday.

During a closed panel discussion attended by local political leaders and business figures, Trump Jr. remarked on the negative perceptions of the EU he has encountered from global businesspeople, calling the situation in Europe “a disaster.” He emphasized the necessity of addressing these issues due to their implications for Western values and civilization.

As the executive vice-president of the Trump Organization, which he co-manages with his brother Eric, Trump Jr. highlighted the urgent need for reform in Europe.

Republika Srpska, one of Bosnia’s two autonomous regions, was established alongside the Bosniak-Croat Federation as part of the 1995 Dayton peace agreements, which were facilitated by the United States to end a war that resulted in approximately 100,000 fatalities and displaced around 2 million individuals.

While the panel discussion was restricted to media outlets aligned with the government, footage was later shared on regional television.

Milorad Dodik, the former president of the region known for his separatist stance, lost his political mandate last August due to a court ruling that barred him from holding office and has been under U.S. sanctions for violating the Dayton peace agreement. Since Donald Trump’s presidency, he has shown strong support for Trump’s policies.

Dodik noted on social media that the visits from Vance in Hungary and Trump Jr. in Banja Luka signify a significant shift in U.S. administration policies under President Trump, indicating a growing concern for this region of Europe.

In October, the U.S. Treasury Department lifted sanctions against Dodik, his associates, and family members without providing a public rationale for this decision. Serbian officials have reported ongoing efforts to strengthen relations with Washington while maintaining their traditional connections with Russia.
