LOS ANGELES — The organization responsible for the Oscars has announced the schedule for its final two broadcasts on ABC, which will include the milestone 100th Academy Awards.
On Tuesday, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, along with ABC, confirmed that the 99th Oscars are set for March 14, 2027, while the 100th Oscars will take place on March 5, 2028.
These events will mark the last ceremonies aired on ABC before the awards ceremony transitions to YouTube in 2029. Additionally, they will be the final two ceremonies hosted at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood. Recently, the film academy revealed plans for a new venue at the Peacock Theater in downtown Los Angeles, following a 10-year partnership with AEG. The Oscars will maintain its traditional start time of 7 p.m. Eastern/4 p.m. Pacific.
The 98th Oscars, which took place last month, experienced a 9% decline in viewership after several years of increasing ratings. The ceremony featured Conan O’Brien as the host, with “One Battle After Another” winning the awards for Best Picture and Best Director. Michael B. Jordan earned the Best Actor award for his role in “Sinners,” while Jessie Buckley won Best Actress for her performance in “Hamnet.”
