A tragic accident occurred at Stromlo Forest Park in Canberra, where a 14-year-old boy lost his life following a bicycle crash. According to law enforcement officials, the incident took place around 2:40 PM on Saturday.

The young cyclist received immediate medical attention at the scene before being transported to a hospital with critical injuries. Unfortunately, despite the efforts of medical personnel, he succumbed to his injuries.

Authorities from the ACT Policing noted that this location is classified as a road-related area, given its public accessibility and designation for cyclist use. This incident has raised the ACT’s road toll for the year 2026 to a total of eight fatalities.

The Major Collision Team of ACT Road Policing is currently conducting an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the accident. A comprehensive report will be compiled for the coroner’s review.
