The Tony Awards have appointed Pink, a renowned artist known for her dynamic and energetic live performances, as the host for the upcoming telecast. The three-time Grammy winner will take on this role on June 7, at the iconic Radio City Music Hall.
In her announcement, Pink expressed her excitement, stating, “It is the honor of an entire lifetime to host a night celebrating the literal hardest-working people in showbiz. Broadway has shaped my life and how I put my own shows together – it is a community that is supportive, inclusive, and full of talent and love. These people give magic every single day, and I cannot wait to celebrate them with the entire world.”
Although Pink has not yet performed on Broadway, she boasts an impressive record of 15 top 10 hits on the Billboard Hot 100, including four chart-topping singles. Her live performances are characterized by acrobatic feats and a captivating stage presence.
Regarding her hosting duties, Pink shared, “When I was asked to host the Tonys, I immediately thought, ‘I have to get permission from my daughter.’ When I asked my daughter, she was really excited about being able to have a ticket to go to the Tonys, so I’m hosting the Tonys, and I’m really, really excited and very nervous because that girl is a tough crowd!”
The executive producers of the Tony Awards, Raj Kapoor, Sarah Levine Hall, and Jack Sussman, praised Pink as “a fearless artist whose powerhouse voice, electrifying stage presence, and undeniable authenticity embody the very spirit of live performance and theatre.”
The 2026 Tony Awards will be broadcast live on CBS and will also be available for streaming on Paramount+. The visibility gained from appearing on this telecast can significantly influence a show’s trajectory, both on Broadway and during its tours.
Last year’s ceremony attracted an audience of 4.85 million viewers on CBS, marking its largest viewership in six years, according to Nielsen statistics. CBS noted that the awards also achieved their highest streaming audience on Paramount+, although specific numbers were not revealed.
The Tony Awards are jointly presented by the Broadway League and the American Theatre Wing.
