The Punjab School Education Board (PSEB) has announced the results for the Class 8 examinations of the 2025-26 academic year, revealing an overall pass rate of 96.51%. This figure shows a slight decrease from the previous year’s pass rate of 97.30%. In total, 262,966 students participated in the Class 8 exams, with 253,789 successfully passing. Notably, female students excelled once more, achieving a pass rate of 97.74%, while male students recorded a pass rate of 95.42%.
In the prior academic year, 290,471 candidates took part in the examinations, with 282,627 passing, resulting in a higher overall pass percentage of 97.30%. Although this year’s results reflect a minor decline, they still indicate steady academic performance throughout the state. Additionally, the board noted that all eight transgender students who sat for the exam achieved success, marking a 100% pass rate in this category.
This year’s top achiever in the PSEB Class 8 examinations is Tehna, who attained a flawless score of 600 out of 600, securing the first position. She is closely followed by Japji Kaur and Jasmeet Kaur, both of whom scored 598 out of 600, earning them 99.67% and a shared second place. Their remarkable achievements underscore the high standard of academic excellence in schools this year.
Several districts demonstrated exceptional performance, with multiple regions surpassing the 97% pass rate. Pathankot emerged as the leading district with an impressive pass percentage of 98.90%, followed by Amritsar and Gurdaspur.
Students can access their PSEB Class 8 results on the official board website by entering their roll number and other necessary information. Detailed mark sheets will be distributed through the respective schools in due course.
