Authorities have apprehended three individuals in connection with the deadly shooting of a 32-year-old man at Box Hill that occurred on Thursday.
The suspects, consisting of two men aged 47 and a 27-year-old woman, were taken into custody during the early hours of Thursday.
Law enforcement officials are classifying the incident as targeted.
On Thursday, shortly before 2 a.m., the shooting took place at an apartment complex located on Whitehorse Road in Box Hill, resulting in the death of the man.
The arrested suspects include two 47-year-old men from Bonnie Brook and a 27-year-old woman from Maryborough, with their arrests made in the Talbot, Maryborough, and Bonnie Brook regions late Wednesday night.
According to reports, residents of the apartment tower were initially evacuated but have since been permitted to return to their homes.
Witnesses from the building stated they heard gunfire, with one resident indicating that the shots seemed to originate from the 11th floor.
Video footage captured shortly after the incident depicted emergency responders engaging with individuals on the street, alongside forensic teams arriving at the location.
Fire Rescue Victoria reported that they responded to the situation around 1:30 a.m. following the activation of a fire alarm in the building.
