The Northern Territory Police are currently looking into the circumstances surrounding the death of an infant discovered unresponsive in a driveway in Palmerston on Friday.

According to a spokesperson for NT Police, officers were dispatched to a residential location in the satellite city near Darwin around 2:30 PM after receiving reports that the child had been located inside a vehicle.

Upon arrival, general duties officers attempted to perform CPR on the infant until paramedics reached the scene. Unfortunately, the child was pronounced dead shortly thereafter.

Investigations into the events leading up to the child’s death are ongoing.
