Vijay’s Jana Nayagan Surfaces Online Illegally: Rajinikanth, Kamal Haasan, and Suriya Speak Out Against Piracy, Calling It a Threat to Art and Artists

Prominent actors including Rajinikanth, Kamal Haasan, Chiranjeevi, Mohan Babu, Suriya, Sivakarthikeyan, Karthi, Jiiva, and Khushbu Sundar have expressed their outrage regarding the unauthorized online release of Vijay’s film, *Jana Nayagan*, on Friday.

Rajinikanth, known as ‘Superstar,’ took to social media platform X to call for immediate action against those accountable for the leak. He stated, “The unauthorized release of *Jana Nayagan* has caused immense distress. Film industry associations must voice their concerns, and the government needs to identify and punish those behind this act. We cannot allow such offenses to persist.”

Kamal Haasan addressed the issue on Facebook, asserting that the leak is indicative of a broader systemic failure. He noted, “The release of *Jana Nayagan* is not merely an accident; it stems from a failure in the system. Delays in the certification process have created opportunities for piracy. When legitimate access is hindered, illegal alternatives emerge. Piracy transcends politics; it is an assault on the art form and the artists involved. It jeopardizes the efforts of countless artists and technicians, as well as the investments made by honest producers and theatre owners who support our beloved cinema. Who safeguards the creators when the system falters? We need accountability, prompt certification, stringent enforcement, and real-time action against piracy. I believe that true cinema enthusiasts will unite and respond appropriately by supporting the film in theatres as they have done in the past.”

Veteran Telugu actor Mohan Babu condemned the incident, labeling it as “a disgraceful act of betrayal against the film industry as a whole.” He shared his thoughts on X, saying, “This illegal leak of *Jana Nayagan* is a profound tragedy. Hundreds of dedicated professionals have invested their efforts into this film. Their livelihoods and futures are at risk due to these criminals. Those responsible must be swiftly tracked down and face the full consequences of the law. We must protect our films and honor the dignity of their creators.”

Actor and producer Suriya tweeted, “It is disheartening and unjust to see the passion of an entire team reduced to this. I urge everyone not to watch, share, or discuss the film here. Please respect their work. I stand with my colleagues and denounce this act; it is unforgivable! #JanaNayagan”

Khushbu Sundar, who is also an actor and politician, commented on X, stating, “Piracy is not a form of entertainment; it is organized theft. Those who participate in it are no different from criminals and should be treated as such. The leaking of *Jana Nayagan* is a grave betrayal of every artist, technician, and worker who has invested their time and effort into creating meaningful content. One illegal click can destroy livelihoods, shatter dreams, and cripple an entire industry. This behavior is completely unacceptable. If you genuinely respect cinema, you must reject piracy. Stand in solidarity with creators, integrity, hard work, and the entertainment industry.”

Sivakarthikeyan also shared his views, emphasizing, “Every film is crafted with the dedication and hard work of countless individuals. Please refrain from engaging in piracy. Kindly wait for the theatrical release and enjoy the film in cinemas. Those responsible for this leak should face severe repercussions. Respect the talent, the labor, and the industry.”

Earlier in the day, KVN Productions, the studio behind *Jana Nayagan*, released an official statement confirming the leak. They stated, “As the producers and exclusive copyright holders of *Jana Nayagan*, we are aware that certain scenes and clips, in some cases the majority of the film, have been illegally accessed and distributed by unknown individuals, posing a significant threat of digital piracy.”

The studio further warned, “We wish to remind everyone that downloading, viewing, storing, forwarding, sharing, or circulating leaked content through any platform constitutes a criminal offense and a violation of copyright law. All digital actions are traceable. We have begun necessary investigations, including forensic analysis and filing complaints against those involved, and we are actively identifying all individuals in the distribution chain. We will pursue strict civil and criminal action against every offender without exception. We advise the public not to engage with any leaked content. Anyone found involved will face immediate legal consequences. If you encounter such material, do not open, store, or forward it. Delete it immediately.”
