YEIDA Begins Land Distribution to Electronics Companies in Proximity to Jewar Airport

The Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) has commenced the allocation of land plots adjacent to the Noida International Airport aimed at establishing an electronics manufacturing ecosystem in the area, as confirmed by YEIDA officials.

Documents reviewed by The Indian Express reveal that several firms, including Havells India, Ascent K Circuit, and Polynomous Industries, have received land allocations in Sector 10 of the YEIDA zone. These plots are designated for the production of a variety of goods, such as consumer electronics, printed circuit boards, and advanced polymer materials.

Additionally, YEIDA has provided Letters of Intent (LOI) to companies like Aurionpro Toshi Automatic Systems, Aditech Semiconductors, Shailsuta Projects, and Dixon Technologies (India), as stated by officials.

Havells has been allocated approximately 50 acres to establish a facility for manufacturing consumer products, including fans, air conditioners, lighting devices, and cables, with projected investments of around Rs 800 crore for this endeavor.

Ascent K Circuit has been granted 16 acres for the production of printed circuit boards, including high-density interconnect (HDI), flex, and multilayer boards, with an anticipated investment exceeding Rs 3,000 crore. Construction for this unit is expected to begin within the month, according to officials. Polynomous Industries has received a 2.5-acre plot for its advanced polymer materials production facility.

Shailendra Kumar Bhatia, the Additional CEO of YEIDA and the nodal officer for the Noida International Airport, noted that the region has already garnered investment commitments totaling nearly Rs 30,000 crore across various sectors, such as semiconductors, medical devices, and film production.

Bhatia remarked that enhanced connectivity will further facilitate industrial development, highlighting the region’s accessibility via the Yamuna Expressway, and its future links to the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway, the Eastern Peripheral Expressway, and the proposed RRTS corridors.

In February, Prime Minister Narendra Modi participated in the groundbreaking event for HCL-Foxconn’s semiconductor facility in the YEIDA area. The Union government had previously approved a Rs 417-crore project for the Electronics Manufacturing Cluster (EMC 2.0) in Gautam Buddha Nagar, which YEIDA plans to develop over 200 acres. This initiative is projected to attract investments of approximately Rs 2,500 crore and create around 15,000 jobs.

The Modified Electronics Manufacturing Clusters (EMC 2.0) scheme was officially announced by the Centre in April 2020, designed to provide financial support for the establishment of such clusters equipped with shared facilities, including industrial plots and plug-and-play factory sheds. The goal is to lure investment, bolster supply chains, and generate employment in the electronics sector.

Union IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw stated that this project aligns with the government’s commitment to enhancing domestic manufacturing and job creation, asserting that it will establish world-class infrastructure and generate 15,000 employment opportunities.
