In the latest developments regarding ceasefire discussions between Iran and the United States, President Donald Trump has issued a warning regarding potential military intervention if the impending negotiations do not yield favorable results. This comes as a senior Iranian delegation, headed by Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf and Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, arrives in Islamabad. These talks are anticipated to evaluate a fragile truce and the broader stability of the region. While Iran is signaling its readiness to engage in discussions, it has stipulated certain conditions, including the establishment of a ceasefire in Lebanon prior to the commencement of formal negotiations.
In preparation for the talks, Trump conveyed to the New York Post that the U.S. military is on standby, with naval forces being equipped should diplomatic efforts falter. He stated, “We’re loading up the ships with the best ammunition… and if we don’t have a deal, we will be using them, and we will be using them very effectively.” Trump further suggested that a clearer picture might emerge within the next 24 hours.
Additionally, Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu has responded to controversial remarks made by Pakistan’s Defence Minister, who suggested the need to “get rid of European Jews” amidst ongoing peace negotiations.
