Melbourne home invasion leaves two individuals with critical injuries.

Two individuals are currently hospitalized with severe injuries following a home invasion that occurred in Greenvale on Friday night.

According to Victoria Police, a group of three to four masked individuals forcibly entered a residence shortly before midnight.

The assailants reportedly fled the scene in a dark-colored SUV.

Authorities are looking into a violent home invasion incident in the northern suburbs of Melbourne, which resulted in two people being hospitalized with serious injuries.

As stated by Victoria Police, the suspects, described as young males wearing masks and dark attire, broke into a house located on Stirling Street in Greenvale just prior to midnight on Friday.

Senior Constable Mitch Jones indicated that, at this point in the investigation, police do not believe the incident was specifically targeted.

Two males present at the residence sustained lacerations and were transported to a hospital with injuries that are not deemed life-threatening.

According to Senior Constable Jones, the injuries sustained by the two men were described as “significant” and “quite traumatic.”

“I have spoken with both individuals currently receiving medical care. They are understandably shaken by the event,” he remarked.

“This is a frightening situation for them, but they are maintaining a positive outlook.”

He added, “The experience is likely to be traumatic for everyone involved, whether they were physically attacked or merely present during the incident. The fear of the situation itself is considerable.”

Police suspect that the assailants left the area in a dark SUV and are believed to be in their late teens to early twenties.

Authorities have yet to recover any weapons associated with the home invasion.
