A man has been taken into custody on suspicion of murder following the tragic death of 21-year-old Finbar Sullivan, who was fatally stabbed in Primrose Hill, London.
On Friday, the Metropolitan Police apprehended a 27-year-old individual. Additionally, a 25-year-old man has been detained on charges of aiding an offender. Both suspects are currently being held in police custody.
Finbar Sullivan was attacked in the north London park during the early evening hours on Tuesday and was pronounced deceased at the site of the incident.
His father, Christopher Sullivan, mentioned that his son had visited the park to utilize a new camera he received as a birthday gift.
Another individual, believed to be in his twenties, was also discovered nearby on Regent’s Park Road with stab wounds and was transported to the hospital. Fortunately, his injuries were assessed as non-life-threatening.
Detective Inspector Andy Griffin expressed his condolences, stating, “My thoughts remain with Finbar’s family, who are receiving support from specialized officers during this unimaginably challenging time.”
Local residents can anticipate an increased police presence in Primrose Hill and its neighboring areas.
Christopher Sullivan, a musician and founding member of the 1980s band Blue Rondo à la Turk, shared his heartbreak, noting that his son aspired to be a cameraman like his grandfather, Michael Seresin, who contributed to movies such as Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban and Rambo III.
Following the arrests, police extended their gratitude to the community members who provided information and urged others in the Primrose Hill area, a locale favored by both tourists and locals, to come forward, emphasizing that any information could significantly influence the investigation.
