Two Pocso cases registered in Karnataka this week; three individuals apprehended.

The police in Bengaluru have detained a 28-year-old individual on charges of sexually assaulting a minor girl in an uncompleted building within the city.

Authorities report that the incident took place on Wednesday evening while the young girl was playing nearby. The suspect allegedly enticed the victim into the construction site, where he proceeded to assault her. Following the incident, he reportedly gave her money before fleeing the location.

The girl returned home shortly afterward, and her family became suspicious due to her unusual behavior. Upon inquiring, they learned about the assault, prompting them to file a complaint. Consequently, a case was initiated under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (Pocso) Act.

The suspect, named Mohammad Munna, originally from Bihar, had recently moved to the city in search of employment. After being apprehended, he was placed in judicial custody while investigations continue.

In a different case, a teacher and a physician in Karnataka’s Chitradurga district were arrested under the Pocso Act for allegedly sexually assaulting a minor and subsequently facilitating an unlawful abortion.

According to the allegations, the primary suspect, a mathematics teacher, is accused of sexually assaulting a minor student, which led to the minor’s pregnancy. Upon learning about the situation, the teacher reportedly coordinated with a doctor at a private nursing facility to terminate the pregnancy.
