A woman in her twenties was reportedly sexually assaulted by multiple men outside a church after she exited a nightclub in Surrey, according to police statements.
The incident allegedly took place after she left Labyrinth Epsom between 2 a.m. and 4 a.m. on Saturday, when she was followed and subsequently attacked outside the Epsom Methodist Church located on Ashley Road, approximately 100 meters from the nightclub.
Authorities indicated that they do not yet have complete descriptions of the suspects but are actively pursuing leads to identify and apprehend them.
Detective Inspector Aine Matthews commented on the situation, stating, “We recognize that this is an incredibly troubling event, and the victim is receiving support from specialized officers.”
Matthews further noted, “Our investigation is still in its initial phases. We are working diligently to gather more information about the suspects and will release further details as soon as they become available.”
The police are particularly keen to speak with anyone who may have been in the vicinity between 2 a.m. and 4 a.m. who could provide insights about a distressed woman in her twenties.
