“Dacoit Achieves Remarkable Milestone: Adivi Sesh and Mrunal Thakur’s Film Surpasses ₹24 Crore in Global Box Office Earnings on Day Two”

Adivi Sesh’s latest film, Dacoit: A Love Story, has successfully continued its box office performance on its second day in theaters, witnessing an increase from its opening day figures and surpassing the Rs 24 crore mark in global earnings. Released on April 10, the film features Adivi Sesh and Mrunal Thakur in leading roles and marks the directorial debut of Shaneil Deo, a cinematographer by profession.

As reported by the box office monitoring service Sacnilk, Dacoit garnered a net of Rs 7.00 crore on its second day from 3,734 screenings. This is an increase from the Day 1 net collection of Rs 6.55 crore, which was generated from 3,800 shows. A rise in ticket sales on Saturday is typically seen as a positive indicator for mid-budget films, suggesting that favorable reviews are attracting more viewers beyond the initial day audience.

After two days, the total net collection in India has reached Rs 13.55 crore, while the overall gross in the country amounts to Rs 15.81 crore. Data from Sacnilk indicates that the film has performed particularly well in the Andhra Pradesh and Telangana regions, aligning with Adivi Sesh’s strong following in the Telugu-speaking demographic. Contributions from Karnataka and other regions in India have also been notable, albeit to a lesser extent. Notably, the film was produced in both Telugu and Hindi simultaneously, ensuring an authentic bilingual experience rather than a mere dubbed version.

On the international front, Dacoit added Rs 2.50 crore on its second day, bringing its total overseas gross to Rs 9.00 crore over the two-day period. The production company has announced that international collections have surpassed the $1 million mark, indicating a robust performance in markets like North America, where the film had already achieved over $100,000 in ticket sales prior to its release. The film’s worldwide earnings have now reached Rs 24.81 crore after just two days in theaters.

With worldwide takings of Rs 14.13 crore, Dacoit achieved a record-breaking opening day for Adivi Sesh, exceeding his previous high of Rs 13.15 crore set by the film Major. This latest opening also marks the third consecutive film for Sesh to achieve double-digit worldwide earnings on its debut, a remarkable feat in the mid-budget Telugu film industry.

Before Dacoit, Sesh’s most recent theatrical releases were Major and HIT: The Second Case, both of which came out in 2022, meaning he is making a return to the big screen after nearly four years. This hiatus, along with the anticipation surrounding his comeback, seems to have effectively translated into significant audience interest during the opening weekend.
