“Vijay Deverakonda expresses frustration over Jana Nayagan leak, reflecting on personal pain and loss”

The recent leak of the film “Jana Nayagan,” featuring Vijay, has generated significant reactions within the film community and among its audience, particularly as it grapples with ongoing legal issues involving the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). This incident has incited widespread condemnation, prompting various figures in the industry to voice their opposition to piracy. Among them, actor Vijay Deverakonda took to social media platform X to express his frustration and recount his own experiences with film leaks early in his career.

In his post, Deverakonda stated, “The leak of Jana Nayagan infuriates me. I have personally felt the anguish and sense of loss that such events bring, especially in the early stages of one’s career. It makes you feel targeted and diminishes your hope. This issue extends beyond just me; it impacts co-stars, directors, producers, and many others who have invested their dreams in this project.”

Deverakonda further emphasized the need for prompt action on this matter, asserting, “It is imperative to resolve this issue quickly and identify those responsible. Failing to do so indicates a systemic failure. It serves as a stark reminder of the insensitivity some individuals display and the lengths they will go to inflict harm without any remorse. I extend my thoughts and unwavering support to the entire team involved in the film.”

While he did not disclose which of his projects had previously suffered from piracy, his remarks resonated with others in the industry. Notable figures such as Rajinikanth, Mohan Babu, and Suriya have also expressed their dismay and called for stringent actions against the perpetuators of this leak.

Rajinikanth commented, “The unauthorized release of the film Jana Nayagan online is shocking and distressing. Film associations must take a stand against this, and the government should take steps to identify those responsible and impose harsh penalties. Such offenses should not be tolerated in the future.”

Mohan Babu described the leak as a “serious violation” and a “betrayal,” underscoring the significant effort invested by countless technicians, artists, and crew members. He urged the authorities to identify the culprits and to use the full extent of the law to punish them, insisting that no leniency should be shown to those who undermine the collective efforts behind filmmaking.

Initially intended for a release during Pongal, “Jana Nayagan” has faced delays due to difficulties in obtaining clearance from the CBFC, which have led to a legal dispute. On April 10, the production company, KVN Productions, officially acknowledged the leak and issued a stern warning regarding the distribution of pirated material.

In a comprehensive statement, the producers revealed that numerous scenes, and in some instances, nearly the entire film had been illicitly accessed and disseminated by unknown parties. They highlighted that downloading, viewing, storing, or sharing such material on platforms like WhatsApp, Telegram, Instagram, Facebook, X, YouTube, or torrent sites is a criminal offense under copyright laws. The production team also announced that forensic investigations are in progress and that they would pursue rigorous civil and criminal actions against anyone involved in the distribution chain.

Directed by H. Vinoth, “Jana Nayagan” boasts a star-studded cast, including Pooja Hegde, Bobby Deol, and Mamitha Baiju, along with Gautham Vasudev Menon, Prakash Raj, Narain, and Priyamani.
