Suspect Arrested in Connection with Finbar Sullivan’s Murder in Primrose Hill

A man has been formally charged with murder following the fatal stabbing of 21-year-old Finbar Sullivan in Primrose Hill.

The Metropolitan Police reported that 27-year-old Oliuwadamilola Ogunyankinnu, residing on Southbury Road in Enfield, was charged with murder on Sunday and is scheduled to appear before the Stratford Magistrates’ Court on Monday.

Additionally, a 25-year-old man who was detained on suspicion of aiding an offender has been released without further charges.

Sullivan was attacked in the north London park on Tuesday evening and was pronounced dead at the scene. His father, Christopher Sullivan, mentioned that his son had visited the park to utilize a new camera he received as a birthday gift.

Another individual, reportedly in his 20s, was discovered nearby on Regent’s Park Road with stab wounds and was transported to the hospital; however, his injuries are not considered life-threatening.

Detective Inspector Andy Griffin expressed his condolences, stating, “My thoughts are with Finbar’s family, who are receiving support from specialist officers during this unimaginably difficult period.”

Christopher Sullivan, a musician and the founder of the 1980s band Blue Rondo à la Turk, shared that his son aspired to follow in the footsteps of his grandfather, Michael Seresin, a cinematographer known for his work on films such as Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban and Rambo III.

“I’m utterly heartbroken; it’s hard to believe,” Sullivan added. “He was the most beautiful, kind, and outgoing young man. He had such a lovely spirit. We have no idea why he was targeted.”
