In a recent appearance on Rhea Chakraborty’s podcast, titled “Chapter 2,” Tara opened up about her relationship with Pia. The 30-year-old actress recounted an incident from their school days when they were separated for classes, discussing the unique dynamics of growing up alongside a sibling of the same age. She noted their contrasting physical traits, mentioning that Pia has curly hair and is more athletic due to her longer history of dancing. “While we share many interests, we are also vastly different individuals,” Tara remarked.
Tara also expressed her comfort with Pia taking the spotlight, acknowledging that her sister possesses a greater level of confidence and sociability. “I felt secure and safe hiding behind her,” said the actress known for her role in “Ek Villain Returns.”
Moreover, Tara highlighted her journey to becoming more extroverted, spurred by her acting career. “I still struggle with socializing and attending parties,” she admitted. She reminisced about their shared classroom experience until the fourth grade, recalling the moment their teacher announced their separation. “I remember looking at Pia and bursting into tears because the thought of being apart from her was terrifying,” she shared.
Throughout her childhood, Tara felt that her identity was closely linked to her sister. “In my mind, I believed I was nothing without her, as I was quite anxious about everything as a child,” she reflected.

Nonetheless, he emphasized that various factors, including personality traits, social experiences, and environmental influences, also play crucial roles in shaping emotional connections. “With a supportive upbringing and healthy social interactions, individuals typically cultivate balanced emotional ties as they mature,” he added.
Strong sibling relationships can also affect future friendships and romantic partnerships. Dr. Krishna indicated that these intense bonds can nurture qualities such as empathy, emotional intelligence, and trust, thereby enhancing the ability to form significant social and romantic relationships. “Those who have enjoyed deep, secure connections often find it easier to establish meaningful relationships later on,” he stated.
However, Dr. Krishna cautioned that an overly dependent sibling relationship could result in challenges. “There may be issues such as comparing partners to siblings, difficulty in prioritizing romantic relationships, or emotional exclusivity. Partners and friends might perceive such sibling bonds as overwhelming. It is crucial to cultivate awareness and set boundaries to maintain independent relationships,” he advised.
Growing up with a twin can also impact one’s sense of autonomy. Dr. Krishna recommended fostering open communication with siblings to avoid unintentionally constricting each other’s independence. “Implementing gentle boundaries, such as making individual choices or spending time apart, can help reinforce personal identity. In some instances, professional counseling based on Attachment Theory may assist individuals in understanding and balancing emotional closeness with independence,” he concluded.
