An AI-generated image shared by President Donald Trump on his social media platform on Monday, which portrayed him in a Christ-like manner, faced backlash from some of his religious supporters. The image was taken down approximately 13 hours after it was uploaded.

During an impromptu press briefing at the White House later that afternoon, Trump confirmed that he had shared the image. He expressed that he believed it depicted him as a “doctor.”

“It wasn’t just a picture; it was me,” the president stated. “I did share it, and I thought it showed me as a doctor, related to the Red Cross, which we support.”
