In response to the increasing commuting difficulties faced by employees in Pune’s Hinjewadi IT sector, Routematic, a leader in AI-powered corporate transportation, introduced an innovative employee shuttle service called COCO Rides on Tuesday. This initiative is a collaboration with the Hinjawadi Industries Association (HIA) and has received backing from the Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC) and the Regional Transport Office (RTO).
The new service is set to assist more than 125,000 employees from over 80 companies linked with HIA, which is recognized as one of the largest IT clusters in India.
The launch event took place at the Infosys campus situated in Hinjewadi.
Initially, COCO Rides will deploy a fleet of over 80 buses, servicing more than 70 routes and providing over 500 boarding locations throughout Pune. This network will connect prominent residential neighborhoods with the business districts in Hinjewadi, accommodating up to 20,000 commuters daily. The service is entirely app-driven, allowing employees of HIA-affiliated companies to reserve their seats ahead of time, and travel along designated routes with established schedules and pricing, as noted in a press release.
During the launch, Sriram Kannan, the founder and CEO of Routematic, remarked, “After successfully implementing our services in various corporate hubs, we are excited to introduce COCO Rides to Pune and have plans to extend our offerings to additional business areas and cities in the near future.”
Kavitha Ramachandragowda, co-founder and executive director of Routematic, emphasized, “COCO Rides aims to provide an economical and reliable solution for daily commutes, while also promoting more sustainable urban transportation options.”
