On Thursday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi emphasized that Operation Sindoor exemplifies India’s unwavering stance against terrorism and its dedication to maintaining national security.

Marking one year since the initiation of this operation, Modi reiterated the nation’s commitment to dismantling the infrastructure that supports terrorism. “A year later, we continue to be resolute in our mission to eradicate terrorism and its supporting framework,” he stated.

During a commemoration of the first anniversary of Operation Sindoor, the Prime Minister highlighted that the response to the attack in Pahalgam last year showcased the professionalism, readiness, and collaborative strength of the armed forces.

The tragic terrorist assault in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pahalgam on April 22, 2025, resulted in the deaths of 25 tourists along with a local pony operator. In response, India initiated Operation Sindoor—a coordinated military operation involving all three branches of the armed forces—on May 7, 2025, executing targeted strikes on nine identified terrorist sites in Pakistan.

Modi noted that the operation not only demonstrated the exceptional bravery and precision of the armed forces but also highlighted the increasing collaboration among them.
