On April 9, Justice Vishal Dhagat approved a set of petitions submitted by these workers, emphasizing that such employees deserve “economic justice” and a reasonable standard of living.<\/p>\n
The court’s ruling stated, “The repetitive engagement of these petitioners by the state government on a contractual basis indicates an ongoing necessity for their services. It is unjust for petitioners to receive lower wages than their counterparts and to be deprived of the essential means for a decent livelihood, economic equity, and an acceptable quality of life.”<\/p>\n
The petitions were filed by state department workers seeking directives from the authorities to grant them the benefits of classification and the minimum pay scale as outlined in a policy enacted on October 7, 2016.<\/p>\n
