In the southern port city of Odesa, missile and drone assaults resulted in six fatalities, as reported by the head of the city’s military administration, Sergiy Lysak, via Telegram. In Kharkiv, Ukraine’s second-largest city located in the northeast, officials reported injuries to two individuals from drone strikes.<\/p>\n
The attacks on Thursday followed a series of overnight assaults by Russia on Wednesday, which targeted port facilities in the southern regions, according to Ukrainian officials. An air force report from Wednesday evening indicated that Russian forces had launched a total of 361 drones and 21 missiles during a 13-hour window concluding at 10 PM, with 349 drones and 20 missiles intercepted.<\/p>\n
In total, there were twelve recorded drone strikes and one missile strike, alongside twelve instances of debris falling from the sky. President Zelenskyy emphasized the severity of the situation, stating that over the past day, there were aggressive attacks on cities including Dnipro, Cherkasy, Kharkiv, Kryvyi Rih, Chernihiv, the Donetsk region, and Zaporizhzhia. He reiterated the urgent need for enhanced air defense systems, asserting, “We require air defense missiles every single day \u2013 every day that the Russians continue their assaults on our cities.”<\/p>\n
In Odesa, a missile strike on an apartment building in the early evening resulted in one death and six injuries. Additionally, a regional governor in Zaporizhzhia reported that a 74-year-old woman was killed in a kiosk during a combined attack, which also caused damage to a car park, business premises, neighboring residential buildings, and an educational facility.<\/p>\n
