The weather in Gujarat is expected to remain hot and humid until April 18, but temperatures are anticipated to drop slightly on April 19 and 20, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD). The IMD has predicted light to moderate rainfall for several districts during this period.<\/p>\n
On Thursday, Rajkot recorded the highest temperature in the state at 41.9 degrees Celsius, which is 2.5 degrees above the average for this time of year. Ahmedabad followed closely with a temperature of 40.4 degrees Celsius, and Amreli reported 40.3 degrees Celsius.<\/p>\n
Other areas experiencing elevated temperatures included Bhuj at 39.7 degrees Celsius, Gandhinagar at 39.6 degrees Celsius, Vadodara at 39.4 degrees Celsius, and Deesa at 39.3 degrees Celsius.<\/p>\n
In contrast, coastal regions reported milder temperatures, with Dwarka at 31.2 degrees Celsius, Veraval at 32 degrees Celsius, Porbandar at 34.3 degrees Celsius, and Okha at 33.4 degrees Celsius.<\/p>\n
The IMD noted that no significant changes in maximum temperatures are expected over the next three days, with a gradual decrease of 2-3 degrees Celsius likely thereafter. Maximum temperatures are projected to remain above 40 degrees Celsius until Saturday.<\/p>\n
On April 19, light to moderate showers and thundershowers are forecasted for districts in the North Gujarat region, including Aravalli, Dahod, and Mahisagar, as well as parts of Saurashtra such as Amreli and Bhavnagar. The remaining districts in Gujarat are expected to experience dry conditions.<\/p>\n
This shift in weather is attributed to a Western Disturbance coupled with an east-west trough extending from southeast Rajasthan to Manipur, influenced by cyclonic circulation over northeast Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand, Gangetic West Bengal, Bangladesh, and southeast Assam.<\/p>\n
Additionally, on April 20, the districts of South Gujarat, including Tapi and Dang, along with Amreli and Bhavnagar, are likely to see light to moderate rainfall accompanied by thundershowers.<\/p>\n
The weather department has also indicated that hot and humid air conditions will persist in isolated areas along the coast until April 18.<\/p>\n
