A tragic incident occurred in Adelaide’s north-east, where a seven-year-old girl lost her life two days after an all-terrain vehicle (ATV) she was riding in overturned on private land.<\/p>\n
In a separate incident over the weekend, two motorcyclists also perished in a collision in the Adelaide Hills. Their deaths followed another fatality from Friday, when a motorcyclist crashed into a traffic light in Ovingham.<\/p>\n
Emergency responders were dispatched to a property on Glenburnie Road in Yattalunga shortly before 4:30 PM on Friday after receiving reports of the ATV accident. The young girl, who was a passenger in the vehicle, sustained severe injuries and was transported to the hospital. Unfortunately, police confirmed that she “succumbed to her injuries” on Sunday. Additionally, a woman and another child involved in the incident were treated for minor injuries.<\/p>\n
The Major Crash Investigation Unit has taken over the investigation of this incident, as well as the separate motorcycle accident that resulted in two fatalities.<\/p>\n
On Saturday, a collision between a Honda motorcycle and a Suzuki motorcycle occurred on Gorge Road in Paracombe around 2:30 PM. Both riders, aged 31 and 47, were pronounced dead at the scene. This incident followed a tragic event on Friday morning, where a 40-year-old man from Para Hills West was killed after his Harley Davidson struck a traffic light at the intersection of Park Terrace and Torrens Road.<\/p>\n
These recent fatalities contribute to a grim week of incidents on South Australian roads, coinciding with the lead-up to the Easter holiday. Earlier in the week, a 39-year-old woman tragically lost her life after being struck by a bus during peak hour in Adelaide’s central business district, an event that was witnessed by numerous bystanders.<\/p>\n
Additionally, a collision involving a truck and a utility vehicle at Nuriootpa resulted in serious injuries to three occupants of the ute, including a 47-year-old man and two young children, aged five and three. The man has since died in the hospital. The truck driver sustained only minor injuries, despite the vehicle catching fire at the scene, located at the intersection of the Sturt Highway and Old Kapunda Road.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
