During an earlier hearing, Solicitor General of India Tushar Mehta, representing the CBI, expressed objections when Senior Advocate N Hariharan, who is defending Kejriwal, requested additional time to submit a response. Mehta emphasized, \u201cThe honorable court should not allow more than one week; we have an urgent matter at hand. This is an exceptional order, and we strongly object to it remaining on the record for even a moment longer than necessary.\u201d The court responded by stating, \u201cLet them file a reply.\u201d In response, Senior Advocate Hariharan challenged the CBI\u2019s objection, questioning the potential harm that would arise from granting more time. Mehta argued, \u201cIt is unreasonable to request additional time after receiving an unjust order.\u201d Hariharan countered, asserting, \u201cIt is unfair to label the court as unjust and to claim that the proceedings are unfair.\u201d<\/p>\n
Stay on Observations: On March 9, the Delhi High Court issued a stay on the trial court\u2019s remarks directed at the investigating officer, which included a recommendation for departmental action against him. The High Court noted that the trial court\u2019s comments regarding the CBI’s investigation in the excise policy case appeared to be fundamentally flawed. Earlier, on February 27, a trial court had discharged all 23 defendants in the CBI case, including Kejriwal and Sisodia.<\/p>\n
