On Monday, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta engaged in discussions with Lieutenant-Governor Taranjit Singh Sandhu regarding a range of important topics, including action plans for the upcoming summer and monsoon seasons, management of water supply, electricity, and the expansion of the PNG network in the Capital.<\/p>\n
As reported by officials, the meeting addressed critical issues such as energy security, emphasizing the need for careful oversight of LPG supply chains to ensure timely delivery. Additionally, the expansion of the PNG infrastructure was highlighted as a means to tackle shortages and combat black market activities.<\/p>\n
In a post shared on X, CM Gupta stated, \u201cI met with the LG today to provide a comprehensive overview of the Delhi government\u2019s preparations for the approaching summer. We engaged in thorough discussions on various matters, including water supply, electricity management, health services, and disaster preparedness.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cOur objective is to guarantee that residents of Delhi do not encounter any difficulties during the summer months. The Delhi government is committed to taking all necessary measures and is well-prepared to ensure efficient services and management for the public,\u201d Gupta added.<\/p>\n
Officials noted that the discussions included strategies for enhancing heatwave readiness and ensuring a sufficient supply of drinking water. Moreover, there was a significant focus on proactive planning to alleviate urban flooding, stressing the importance of completing the ongoing desilting of drains on time.<\/p>\n
The necessity for effective coordination among various departments of the Delhi Government, urban local bodies, central agencies, and neighboring states was also underscored, as indicated by a post from the Lok Niwas X account.<\/p>\n
A representative from the LG House revealed that LG Sandhu is prioritizing crucial matters such as monsoon flooding, waterlogging, the drainage master plan, and air pollution, and has begun convening meetings with relevant departments.<\/p>\n
The official stated, \u201cThe intention is to initiate preparations in advance instead of waiting for the monsoon season or the onset of winter air pollution.\u201d<\/p>\n
Additionally, sources mentioned that the LG plans to conduct weekly meetings with the Chief Minister to review ongoing projects and their progress.<\/p>\n
On the same day, LG Sandhu also met with the Chief Secretary, Delhi Police Commissioner, and other senior officials to assess and deliberate on urban issues, with a focus on governance, crime, law and order, and public service.<\/p>\n
