He labeled her remarks as “irresponsible and condemnable,” urging for solidarity among coalition members.<\/p>\n
During an electoral gathering on Monday, Banerjee accused her counterpart in Tamil Nadu, DMK chief M K Stalin, and Congress of potentially colluding with the ECI. This statement ignited controversy among the allies of the INDIA bloc, especially in light of the upcoming Assembly elections in West Bengal, Assam, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, and Puducherry.<\/p>\n
Tagore emphasized that in a crucial moment when the opposition should unite against the BJP, such unfounded allegations only serve to undermine their collective efforts. He expressed astonishment at Banerjee’s apparent loss of composure and her unfounded accusations, asserting that questioning established institutions and targeting coalition partners without evidence reflects a lack of true leadership and merely diverts attention.<\/p>\n
He also reminded that the TMC had previously allied with the BJP in the late 1990s and even contested elections alongside the BJP-RSS alliance in 2004. Furthermore, he pointed out that Rahul Gandhi, the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, has persistently opposed the RSS-BJP ideology, enduring numerous legal challenges, disqualification from Parliament, and the loss of his official residence as consequences for his principled stance against those in power.<\/p>\n
In his remarks directed at Banerjee, Tagore asserted that the Congress does not require guidance on opposing the BJP. He reiterated that this is not a moment for thoughtless comments but a critical time for unity, accountability, and concentrated effort.<\/p>\n
