Authorities in Victoria’s north-west are requesting assistance from the public in finding a man who has been missing since Easter Sunday. The individual, referred to simply as Richard, was last seen at 8 a.m. that morning in the town of Ouyen, and investigators believe he may have traveled to a nearby rural property.<\/p>\n
As the search for the 65-year-old man reaches its fourth day, police have renewed their appeal for information regarding his whereabouts. While his last name has not been disclosed, it is known that he was last spotted on Hughes Street in Ouyen.<\/p>\n
Detective Inspector David Rowe from Mildura Police stated that Richard’s utility vehicle and mobile phone were discovered on the property off the Mallee Highway, where authorities are currently conducting search operations. Inspector Rowe expressed concerns for Richard\u2019s safety, noting that his disappearance is highly unusual.<\/p>\n
“We became aware of Richard’s situation on Monday afternoon, leading us to initiate searches at the location where his vehicle was found,” Inspector Rowe explained. “We will also perform a forensic examination on Richard’s ute, as we currently lack any information that clarifies whether his disappearance is voluntary or if something else may have occurred on the property. We greatly appreciate any assistance from the community in locating Richard.”<\/p>\n
Inspector Rowe added that search efforts are focused on a rural area situated a few kilometers east of Ouyen. Richard is described as a Caucasian male, bald, with grey hair, and sporting a beard and mustache. At the time he was last seen, he was dressed in a yellow high-visibility long-sleeve shirt and a dark-colored cap.<\/p>\n
