In a message posted on X, the embassy stated, \u201cIn continuation of the advisory from April 7, 2026, and considering the latest developments, Indian nationals currently in Iran are strongly encouraged to exit the country swiftly, in coordination with the Embassy and utilizing the recommended routes.\u201d<\/p>\n
The embassy also emphasized that individuals should not attempt to approach any international borders without first consulting and coordinating with the Embassy. \u201cIt is again reiterated that there should be no attempt to approach any international land border without prior consultation and coordination with the Embassy,\u201d the statement read.<\/p>\n

Earlier in the day, Trump announced a two-week ceasefire with Iran, just before a self-imposed deadline at 8 pm (5:30 am IST). He indicated that the agreement was contingent on Iran halting its blockade of oil and gas shipments through the Strait, a critical route for global oil transport.<\/p>\n
Trump stated on his Truth Social platform, \u201cThis will be a double-sided CEASEFIRE! The reason for doing so is that we have already met and exceeded all military objectives and are progressing towards a definitive agreement concerning long-term PEACE with Iran and PEACE in the Middle East.\u201d<\/p>\n
