ORLANDO, Florida — Authorities are pursuing the prescription drug records of Tiger Woods from a local pharmacy, following his vehicle accident in Florida last week that led to his arrest on allegations of driving under the influence.<\/p>\n
On Tuesday, officials in Florida announced their intention to issue a subpoena for all prescription medication records associated with the renowned golfer at Lewis Pharmacy in Palm Beach. This request covers the period from January 1 to the end of last month.<\/p>\n
The prosecutors in Martin County are specifically interested in the dates when prescriptions were filled, the quantity of pills dispensed, dosage information, and any accompanying instructions or warnings regarding the use of these medications, especially those pertaining to driving, as indicated in the online court docket.<\/p>\n
Any objections to this subpoena must be submitted to the State Attorney’s Office within a ten-day timeframe. Neither Lewis Pharmacy nor Woods’ legal representative, Doug Duncan, responded immediately to inquiries seeking their comments.<\/p>\n
Woods entered a not guilty plea in his DUI case last week, shortly after a sheriff’s report revealed that deputies discovered two pain pills in his possession and observed signs of impairment following an incident where his SUV collided with a trailer and overturned.<\/p>\n
According to authorities, Woods was driving at high speeds on a residential road in Jupiter Island, where the speed limit is 30 mph (approximately 50 kph) at the time of the crash. An incident report stated that the vehicle sustained damages amounting to $5,000. While Woods complied with a Breathalyzer test that indicated no alcohol consumption, he declined to provide a urine sample, according to officials.<\/p>\n
In a statement last week, Woods mentioned that he is taking a break to seek treatment.<\/p>\n
This incident marks the second occasion Woods has taken a hiatus following a car accident. In 2009, after crashing his SUV into a fire hydrant and a tree near his home in Orlando, he stepped away for four months to focus on personal improvement before returning to competition at the Masters.<\/p>\n
Woods was also involved in a serious car accident in 2021 in Los Angeles, which severely injured his right leg and led doctors to consider amputation.<\/p>\n
