Mansukh Vasava, the Bharuch MP from the BJP, has openly expressed concerns regarding his party’s candidate selection process for the forthcoming local body elections. During a party gathering in Bharuch on Wednesday, he conveyed his thoughts to reporters, stating, \u201cOur apprehension is not directed towards the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) or the Congress, but we are concerned that the stringent criteria established by the state BJP leadership for candidate selection might have negative consequences.\u201d<\/p>\n
Vasava’s remarks highlighted specific requirements, such as candidates needing to be under 60 years old, not having family members affiliated with the party, and the ineligibility of individuals who have already served three terms. He commented on the dissatisfaction among party workers, noting, \u201cThese individuals have dedicated their efforts to the party; now, at a time when they could be stepping into leadership positions, they are being denied tickets, which has led to a decline in their morale. The party appears to be favoring new candidates for the local body elections.\u201d<\/p>\n
He further indicated that party members had expressed their sentiments to him personally. Attempts to reach Vasava for further comments were unsuccessful.<\/p>\n
