Ogilvy Group Sri Lanka showcased exceptional talent at the Young Lions Sri Lanka Competition 2026, recently held in Colombo, securing victories in three out of the four available categories. The agency triumphed in the Media, PR, and TV Categories, with the winning teams now gearing up to represent Sri Lanka at the prestigious global Young Lions Competition in Cannes, France, scheduled for this June.<\/p>\n
The agency’s success highlighted its diverse and robust talent pool, with Sachintha Gunawardena and Hasith Dilakshana from Ogilvy Media clinching the Media category. The PR category was won by Azraa Saldin and Nirmala Premachandra from Ogilvy PR, while the TV category victory went to Afridi Hussain and Maveena Manickam from Phoenix Ogilvy.<\/p>\n
The competition was organized by Metal Factor, the local representative of the Cannes Lions programs. This year’s Young Lions Sri Lankan edition featured six categories: Media, PR, TV, Print, Design, and Cyber (Digital), inviting participants under the age of 30 from various communication agencies throughout the country. Teams were challenged to develop insightful and practical solutions within a strict time limit. Winning at this national level is crucial, as it serves as the only route to the global Young Lions stage in Cannes.<\/p>\n
Of the six categories available, only four were awarded, with Design and Cyber (Digital) not receiving any accolades, highlighting the rigorous judging criteria of the competition.<\/p>\n
The three victorious Ogilvy teams will now advance to the Young Lions Competition in Cannes, a highly esteemed and challenging global platform for emerging talent in the industry. This event will take place alongside the renowned Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity 2026.<\/p>\n
During the international competition, Young Lions teams from around the globe will tackle a 24-hour live brief, presenting a comprehensive communication campaign to a distinguished panel of senior creative and industry professionals.<\/p>\n
