The Assam State School Education Board has officially announced the results for the Class 10 Higher School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) Examination for the year 2026. The examinations for both Class 10 and Class 12 were conducted by the Assam State School Education Board (ASSEB). This year, the overall pass rate is recorded at 65.62%. Students can access their results on the official websites of the Secondary Education Board of Assam (SEBA) and ASSEB, including sebaonline.org, asseb.in, and resultsassam.nic.in.<\/p>\n
As per the results summary released by the Assam State School Education Board (Division I), a total of 4,38,564 students registered for the HSLC Examination in 2026, with 4,29,249 candidates actually sitting for the exam. Out of those, 2,81,701 candidates successfully passed, including 85,189 who achieved first division, 1,50,167 in second division, and 46,345 in third division. The male candidates achieved a pass percentage of 67.78%, as 1,26,398 out of 1,86,468 candidates cleared the examination. In contrast, female candidates had a pass percentage of 63.96%, with 1,55,303 passing from a total of 2,42,781 examinees. The board also noted that 9,315 candidates were absent during the exams, five results were withheld, and 135 candidates faced expulsion.<\/p>\n
Students looking to check their results can do so by visiting the official websites (sebaonline.org and asseb.in) and selecting the \u2018HSLC Result 2026\u2019 option. They will need to input their roll number and relevant login credentials to view their HSLC results, which can be downloaded or saved for later reference.<\/p>\n
To successfully pass the HSLC examinations, students must achieve a minimum of 30% in each subject as well as in the overall aggregate. Those who do not meet these criteria will have the opportunity to retake the compartment exams, with dates to be announced shortly on the official websites. Last year, the compartment exams were held from May 23 to May 29, 2025, with results released on June 16. According to SEBA regulations, these exams were available only to students who failed in a maximum of three subjects while having secured at least 170 total marks. The compartment exams focused solely on theoretical knowledge.<\/p>\n
The Class 10 exams for the Assam Board commenced on February 10, 2026, starting with the MIL\/English paper and concluded on February 27, 2026. The duration for most theory papers was set at three hours, with the first shift running from 9 am to 12 noon and the second shift from 1:30 pm to 4:30 pm. Candidates were provided with an additional five minutes at the beginning of each shift to review the exam questions.<\/p>\n
In the previous year, the Assam Board Class 10 theory examinations took place from February 15 to March 3, with practical exams conducted on January 21 and 22. The HSLC results for those exams were declared on April 11, 2025, with an overall pass percentage of 63.98%. Approximately 4 lakh students sat for the exams, and 2,70,471 successfully passed. Amishi Saikia achieved the highest score in the Assam board Class 10 HSLC results, obtaining 591 marks (98.50%) out of a total of 600.<\/p>\n
