Two individuals are currently hospitalized with severe injuries following a home invasion that occurred in Greenvale on Friday night.<\/p>\n
According to Victoria Police, a group of three to four masked individuals forcibly entered a residence shortly before midnight.<\/p>\n
The assailants reportedly fled the scene in a dark-colored SUV.<\/p>\n
Authorities are looking into a violent home invasion incident in the northern suburbs of Melbourne, which resulted in two people being hospitalized with serious injuries.<\/p>\n
As stated by Victoria Police, the suspects, described as young males wearing masks and dark attire, broke into a house located on Stirling Street in Greenvale just prior to midnight on Friday.<\/p>\n
Senior Constable Mitch Jones indicated that, at this point in the investigation, police do not believe the incident was specifically targeted.<\/p>\n
Two males present at the residence sustained lacerations and were transported to a hospital with injuries that are not deemed life-threatening.<\/p>\n
According to Senior Constable Jones, the injuries sustained by the two men were described as “significant” and “quite traumatic.”<\/p>\n
“I have spoken with both individuals currently receiving medical care. They are understandably shaken by the event,” he remarked.<\/p>\n
“This is a frightening situation for them, but they are maintaining a positive outlook.” <\/p>\n
He added, “The experience is likely to be traumatic for everyone involved, whether they were physically attacked or merely present during the incident. The fear of the situation itself is considerable.”<\/p>\n
Police suspect that the assailants left the area in a dark SUV and are believed to be in their late teens to early twenties.<\/p>\n
Authorities have yet to recover any weapons associated with the home invasion.<\/p>\n
