A Youth Congress leader was brutally murdered by a group of attackers in Dharwad, Karnataka, on Friday evening.<\/p>\n
The victim, 32-year-old Fairoz Khan Pathan, was assaulted at his residence in the Hashminagar locality between 9:30 PM and 10 PM. Initial reports indicate that Pathan was sitting outside his home when one of the assailants approached him and launched an attack. As he attempted to escape inside, three to four individuals pursued him, forced their way into the house, and fatally attacked him with sharp objects in front of his family.<\/p>\n
During the incident, Pathan\u2019s mother and sister, who were present, suffered minor injuries while trying to defend him. Relatives of the deceased claimed that the attackers were familiar to Pathan and alleged that they fled the scene after stealing two mobile phones.<\/p>\n
The violent episode was recorded by nearby CCTV cameras. Law enforcement officials from the Sub-Urban Police Station promptly arrived at the location for an initial assessment.<\/p>\n
Police Commissioner N Shashikumar, who inspected the crime scene, confirmed that a case has been filed against one Mohammed Shah and his accomplices based on a formal complaint.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe have obtained several leads from eyewitness testimonies and the CCTV footage from the area. Efforts are ongoing to identify and apprehend all individuals involved. The motive for the murder is still under investigation,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n
The deceased\u2019s body has been sent for a post-mortem examination, and the investigation is continuing.<\/p>\n
The police have called upon the public to provide any information that could aid in their investigation. “We encourage citizens to come forward with any pertinent details. We will take stringent action against those responsible and are enhancing measures to prevent similar occurrences,” added the police.<\/p>\n
Sources indicate that Pathan was set to marry on April 24.<\/p>\n
