On Saturday, Union Home Minister Amit Shah launched a pointed criticism of West Bengal’s Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, ridiculing her injuries during election campaigns and accusing her of adopting a “victim” stance.<\/p>\n
While addressing large gatherings at the Ramsagar Fishery Ground and Ethani Football Ground in the Bankura district of West Bengal, Shah remarked, “Mamata Didi often wears bandages, whether real or fake, on her leg or head. This election, feel free to bandage wherever you wish. The voters of Bengal are not going to support you.” <\/p>\n
Shah emphasized that a forthcoming BJP government would establish \u201cone law for all,\u201d explicitly targeting polygamy. “No individual will be permitted to have four wives; there will be equal laws for all citizens,” he declared.<\/p>\n
He also made overtures to the Santhal community, accusing Banerjee of disrespecting President Droupadi Murmu during her recent visit to the state. “Narendra Modi ji has honored the tribes by elevating our Santhal sister to the presidency. Mamata ji cannot accept that a tribal girl from humble beginnings has achieved such heights. You must seek retribution for this affront in the upcoming election,” he urged.<\/p>\n
Refuting speculation about a centralized “Delhi rule,” Shah assured attendees that the next chief minister of Bengal would be a local who speaks Bengali fluently.<\/p>\n
He pledged to eradicate issues like ‘love jihad’ and ‘land jihad,’ promising enhanced safety for women. “Mamata Didi claims that no one should venture out after 7 PM. Establish a BJP government, and women will feel secure enough to walk freely even at 1 AM,” Shah added.<\/p>\n
Additionally, Shah announced a series of financial benefits aimed at vital voter demographics while reminding them of the BJP’s manifesto, which includes provisions such as Rs 21,000 for expectant mothers, Rs 3,000 monthly for women, increased financial assistance for farmers under the PM Kisan scheme, and a Minimum Support Price for paddy set at Rs 3,100. He also revealed plans for a new AIIMS facility in North Bengal and free bus travel for women on state-operated buses.<\/p>\n
Addressing local issues in Bankura, Shah criticized the prohibition on potato exports to neighboring states. “Mamata Banerjee compels farmers to sell potatoes at Rs 2. If a BJP government is in place, your potatoes will be exported to neighboring states on the same day. We won’t need to import potato seeds from Punjab anymore,” he stated.<\/p>\n
Targeting various corruption scandals, including those related to SSC recruitment, cattle smuggling, and the PM Awas Yojana, Shah warned that the prevailing “syndicate raj” would face serious repercussions.<\/p>\n
“Press that button firmly on April 23 so that those infiltrators feel the shock in Delhi,” he encouraged voters, also promising that a committee would be established to retrieve “every penny” misappropriated by TMC leaders and restore it to the impoverished.<\/p>\n
Shah referenced the more than 300 BJP workers who have allegedly been killed in the state, asserting, “Once the BJP government is formed on May 5, those responsible for these murders will be incarcerated.”<\/p>\n
