“My mother passed away today (Sunday). Her final rites will take place tomorrow at Shivaji Park in Mumbai,” stated her son, Anand Bhosle, to the media.<\/p>\n
Bhosle’s remarkable voice captivated audiences across India for nearly eight decades, during which she recorded over 12,000 songs. She boldly ventured into cabaret and Western-influenced styles, establishing a unique musical persona.<\/p>\n

Born on September 8, 1933, into a family with a rich musical heritage, all four of her siblings also achieved success as musicians and singers. Her elder sister, Lata Mangeshkar, earned the title of \u201cIndia\u2019s nightingale.\u201d<\/p>\n
Although frequently compared to Mangeshkar, who passed away in 2022, Bhosle carved out her own niche, exploring a wide range of genres from pop to traditional folk music.<\/p>\n
