During a Fox News interview, when asked if his previous tariff warning aimed specifically at China, Trump confirmed, stating, \u201cYes, China and potentially others. But specifically, yes, China is included.\u201d<\/p>\n
Trump expressed skepticism about reports suggesting that China might be providing shoulder missiles to Iran. He mentioned, \u201cI doubt they would do that because I have a relationship and I think they wouldn\u2019t do that, but maybe they did a little bit at the beginning, but I don\u2019t think they would anymore. But if we catch them doing that, they get a 50% tariff.\u201d<\/p>\n
Regarding negotiations with Iran, Trump predicted that Tehran would eventually return to the negotiating table, asserting he could decisively address the situation in a single day. \u201cI predict they come back and they give us everything we want,\u201d he told Fox anchor Maria Bartiromo, adding, \u201cI want everything\u2026 They have no cards.\u201d<\/p>\n
The president also defended his controversial statement from the previous week, in which he claimed that \u201ca whole civilization will die tonight, never to be brought back again.\u201d He asserted he was \u201cfine with it,\u201d suggesting that such threats were effective in bringing Iran to negotiations. \u201cWhen I say about a civilization, it really has changed. It really has. But think of it. They\u2019re allowed to say, \u2018Death to America. Death to this,\u2019\u201d Trump remarked. He concluded, \u201cThat statement got them to the bargaining table, and they haven\u2019t left it.\u201d<\/p>\n
This warning follows unsuccessful talks between U.S. and Iranian negotiators in Islamabad, which wrapped up on Sunday and put the two-week ceasefire, set to expire on April 22, in jeopardy.<\/p>\n
