In the midst of a politically charged environment in Gujarat as the local body elections approach on April 26, former BJP MLA Kesarisinh Solanki from the Matar Assembly constituency in Kheda district has officially joined the Congress party. This transition took place on Tuesday, with Amit Chavda, the president of the Gujarat Pradesh Congress Committee, present to welcome him.<\/p>\n
Solanki first secured his position as an MLA in 2014 during a byelection and successfully retained his seat in the 2017 Assembly elections. Following his denial of a nomination by the BJP for the 2022 elections, he briefly aligned himself with the Aam Aadmi Party before rejoining the BJP. However, in July 2025, he faced suspension from the BJP by the Kheda district president due to his involvement in activities deemed “anti-party.”<\/p>\n
