FINANCIAL CHRONICLE – The Colombo Stock Exchange experienced a positive closing on Wednesday, according to data from the CSE.
The All Share Index increased by 0.60 percent, which translates to a gain of 132.82 points, bringing it to a total of 22,261.48.
Meanwhile, the S&P SL20 rose by 0.57 percent, equivalent to 35.02 points, reaching 6,187.75.
Key contributors to the upward trend in the All Share Index included Ceylinco Holdings, which saw a rise of 4.76 percent to Rs. 3,248.25, Melstacorp, which gained 1.41 percent to Rs. 180.00, Hatton National Bank with an increase of 0.85 percent to Rs. 414.00, and Chevon Lubricants, which rose by 3.53 percent to Rs. 6.50.
On the downside, DFCC Bank fell by 1.52 percent to Rs. 145.50, while Sunshine Holdings decreased by 1.59 percent to Rs. 31.00, marking them as the main negative influencers.
The total turnover for the day amounted to 3.05 billion rupees, with diversified financials contributing 800.3 million rupees to the overall turnover.
