Nag Ashwin draws parallels between Mrunal Thakur and iconic actresses Madhubala and Smita Patil in light of Allu Aravind’s trending marriage insights.

Mrunal Thakur and Adivi Sesh’s film, Dacoit, has achieved remarkable success, grossing over Rs 40 crore worldwide within just three days of its release, as reported by Annapurna Studios. To celebrate this milestone, the production team organized a success event featuring prominent figures such as filmmaker Nag Ashwin and Allu Aravind as special guests. During the gathering, Nag Ashwin praised Mrunal, who made a brief appearance in his ambitious project, Kalki 2898 AD, likening her talent to that of iconic actresses Madhubala and Smita Patil.

In his remarks, Nag Ashwin expressed, “Mrunal, your talent is exceptional. I tend to be very protective of the choices you make. Whenever you take on a project that doesn’t meet your potential, I question why you would do that. You deserve roles that reflect your capabilities. When a character embodies depth, sorrow, or pain, you remind me of the era of Madhubala and Smita Patil. There are very few actors like you today. Therefore, please choose wisely and focus on quality roles.”

Allu Aravind, known as the father of Pushpa star Allu Arjun, also addressed Mrunal at the event, humorously suggesting she consider marrying someone from the Telugu film industry. He stated, “I hope you find a partner within the Telugu film industry and settle down here. My blessing is that this would be the best way to keep you close to us. We truly want you to stay.” His playful comment elicited laughter from the audience, while Mrunal shyly concealed her face, clearly amused by the suggestion.

Earlier in the event, Aravind had given similar advice to actress Lavanya Tripathi, who is now married to actor Varun Tej.

Mrunal is currently enjoying the success of Dacoit: Ek Prem Katha, where she stars alongside Adivi Sesh. She initially rose to fame with the film Super 30, featuring Hrithik Roshan, and later found significant success in the Telugu film Sita Ramam, paired with Dulquer Salmaan, in 2022. This was followed by her role in Hi Nanna (2023) alongside Nani, and her recent cameo in Kalki 2898 AD. Mrunal began her career in television in 2012, later appearing in Marathi films before making her Bollywood debut with Love Sonia. She gained further recognition as the romantic lead in Super 30.
