D4vd Taken Into Custody Following Discovery of Deceased Teen in His Tesla, Authorities Report

The musician known as D4vd has been taken into custody in relation to the death of a teenage girl, whose remains were found in September inside the trunk of a Tesla that is registered to him, according to the Los Angeles Police Department’s statement to ABC News.

Authorities revealed that D4vd, whose real name is David Burke, is a 21-year-old from Los Angeles and is currently being held without the option for bail.

According to sources, the arrest was made based on evidence and probable cause that had been established, rather than through an indictment.

The Los Angeles Police Department announced that they will be presenting the case to the District Attorney’s Office on Monday for potential filing of charges.

Investigators confirmed that Rivas Hernandez, a teenager from Lake Elsinore in Riverside County, was reported missing in 2024. Her disappearance was noted by authorities in October.

Reports indicated that the girl’s body had been dismembered, and police suspect that the act of dismemberment and disposal involved multiple individuals.

Authorities stated that the teen may have been deceased for several weeks prior to the discovery of her remains.

On September 8, officers were called to an impound lot in Hollywood after complaints about a foul smell emanating from a vehicle, as reported by the LAPD.

Upon investigation, authorities found a decomposing body in the front trunk of the Tesla, which had been in the impound lot for two days after being abandoned on a street in Hollywood. The vehicle was connected to Burke.

D4vd, who gained fame on TikTok and has nearly 4 million followers, was in the midst of his “Withered” world tour when the body was found. Following the discovery, several of the last tour dates, including performances in San Francisco and Los Angeles, were canceled.

Additionally, the European segment of the tour faced cancellations, and promotion for the deluxe edition of his debut album, “Romantic Homicide,” which was scheduled for release on September 19, has also been halted, according to a source familiar with the situation.
