Samsung set to launch innovative ‘Wide’ foldable device in tandem with Galaxy Z Fold 8 and S Pen, according to sources.

Samsung is anticipated to unveil a new foldable device known as the ‘Wide’ during its upcoming Galaxy Unpacked event scheduled for July 22 in London, United Kingdom. This information comes from a report by the Korea Economic Times, which suggests that the company will showcase its latest advancements in foldable technology, including the Galaxy Z Fold 8.

The report also indicates that Samsung may reintroduce the S Pen with this new foldable model, aligning with trends seen in competitor Android devices that have increasingly embraced stylus functionality.

This rumored release of Samsung’s new foldable comes at a time of heightened speculation regarding Apple’s upcoming foldable iPhone, which is expected to launch in September 2026. Apple, having entered the foldable market later than its rivals, faces intense competition, particularly in the Chinese market. The involvement of Apple in this segment has undoubtedly raised consumer expectations.

While the Galaxy Z Fold 8 is expected to be revealed at the event, there has been no official announcement regarding the Galaxy Z Flip 8. Additionally, Samsung may introduce new models of the Galaxy Watch during this event, consistent with their previous release patterns.

Last year’s Unpacked event in New York City saw the launch of the Galaxy Fold 7 and Flip 7, while earlier models were introduced in various locations, including Paris and South Korea. Earlier this year, Samsung also revealed its Galaxy S26 lineup, which includes the S26, S26 Plus, and S26 Ultra, at an Unpacked event held in San Francisco on February 25.
