Authorities probe security situation outside Israeli embassy in London.

Authorities in London are currently investigating a situation near the Israeli embassy in central London, where police officers in protective gear are on the scene. This response comes as counter-terrorism officials look into a video that surfaced online, in which a group allegedly claims to have targeted the embassy using drones equipped with “hazardous materials.”

The Metropolitan Police have increased their presence in Kensington Gardens as they examine several “abandoned items.” They are advising the public to steer clear of the area during their investigation.

Counter Terrorism Policing London is aware of the video that was posted online. According to reports from the PA news agency, the footage appears to be from a group associated with Iran, named Harakat Ashab al-Yamin al-Islamia. The video depicts an image of the Israeli embassy with a target over it, followed by individuals in hazmat suits operating drones.

Law enforcement officials have confirmed that there has been no attack on the embassy itself. However, they are actively looking into the video’s authenticity and any possible connection it may have with the items found in Kensington Gardens.

A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police stated: “We have heightened our police presence in Kensington Gardens, where officers are currently evaluating several discarded items. As a precautionary measure, some personnel are wearing protective gear. We understand that this might raise concerns among local residents and the general public.”

“At this point, we do not believe there is an increased risk to public safety, but we advise everyone to avoid the area while our officers conduct their operations. There are cordons in place, and public access to the gardens and surrounding regions is restricted.”

“Counter Terrorism Policing London is aware of the video that was shared online overnight, in which a group claims to have targeted the Israeli embassy nearby using drones carrying dangerous substances. While we can affirm that the embassy has not been attacked, we are conducting urgent inquiries to verify the video’s authenticity and to explore any potential links to the discarded items in Kensington Gardens.”

“We will issue further updates as more information becomes available.”
